Gregory M. Eckel, M.D.

Distinguished sixteen-year career in medicine serving patients throughout Los Angeles

As a member of the Society of Breast Imaging and the American College of Radiology, Dr. Eckel is recognized as one of the leading Breast Radiologists in Southern California. Dr. Eckel joined the faculty of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2004 where he continues to serve as the Chief of Breast Imaging and Director of the Breast Diagnostic Center at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

For nearly a decade, Dr. Eckel served as Chief/Supervising Radiologist for Inner Images, Inc. in Los Angeles. In 2017, Dr. Eckel expanded his practice to include serving as Chief/Supervising Radiologist for Breast Imaging at Family Health Care Network in Visalia, California.

With a deep commitment to serving women from all walks of life, Dr. Eckel augments his professional work in the Greater Los Angeles area with time serving patients of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, were he was raised.
His fellowship training in Breast Imaging led to his election as Chief of Breast Intervention at Harbor-UCLA and his leadership and service there have steadily expanded over the years. As a highly respected attending radiologist and educator, Dr. Eckel has trained over a hundred promising resident physicians and more than a dozen fellows in breast, bone, and abdominal radiology, as well as Image-Guided Intervention.

A sought-after speaker and guest lecturer, Dr. Eckel has co-authored several publications and papers in Diagnostic Radiology, including the acclaimed Clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging 3rd Edition.

Dr. Eckel had the privilege of serving with the esteemed pioneering MRI Radiologist John V. Crues, III, MD as a distinguished fellowship student in MRI at the Beverly Radiology Medical Group.
