After receiving her medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, she completed her residency training in Diagnostic Radiology then pursued a Fellowship in Clinical Breast Imaging, both of which were performed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Jones is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and a member of the American College of Radiology as well as the Society of Breast Imaging. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Jones has concentrated her practice almost exclusively to breast imaging and intervention and was one of the first radiologists in Arizona with experience in 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography.

An ardent supporter of mammography for the early detection of breast diseases and breast cancer, Dr. Jones frequently speaks on breast health topics in live public forums and in the media. Well known in Arizona for her clinical expertise, Dr. Jones serves on the medical board for the Breast Assured Foundation, which provides mammography services and education for women in need, and also serves on the medical board for the Arizona Institute of Breast Health, an organization that offers free second opinions to breast cancer patients. With prior training as a Psychiatry resident at Duke University Dr. Jones has a unique perspective in dealing with and assessing the emotional needs of women as they are being evaluated for a possible breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Jones’ practice is located in our Scottsdale office where she performs diagnostic and interventional procedures in addition to imaging interpretation.

Educated at Arizona State University, LuAnn has been a part of the medical community in Scottsdale for over 30 years. Nationally certified as a breast patient navigator, with additional certification in counseling and hope coaching/crisis care, LuAnn is well equipped to assist our patients with expertise and compassion. Working in conjunction with Dr. Jones and our patients’ healthcare providers, LuAnn educates our patients regarding their breast imaging and diagnosis, facilitates procedures, and provides emotional support and referrals to community resources that are helpful for a woman’s breast health journey.

The progress made in breast imaging and breast disease has been substantial, and often the process can seem quite complex and overwhelming to our patients. LuAnn’s ability to make difficult concepts understandable eases the anxiety that is often present.

Passionate about the education and support of women’s breast care and the role of nurse navigators, LuAnn has been a leading voice of expertise in broadcast, print and online media. As an advocate for mammography screening for the early detection of breast cancer in the community, LuAnn serves on the board of the Breast Assured Foundation which provides mammography services and education for underserved populations.
