Dr. Lucia Spears is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with over 30 years experience. 23 years of her career have been specifically in breast imaging, which includes extensive experience with mammography, breast ultrasound, breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), image guided percutaneous needle biopsies and preoperative procedures. She has provided breast imaging services for Union Hospital, Terre haute Indiana at Clara Fairbanks Center for Women. She is president of Imaging Answers, LLC which provides breast imaging services and consulting for breast imaging equipment and associated percutaneous devices. Dr. Spears was Medical Director of Solis Indianapolis Breast Center between 8/2008 and 9/2010; the Medical Director and owner of the Indianapolis Breast Center, P.C. (IBC, PC) from 2001 to 2008, and a staff radiologist at the Indianapolis Breast Center from 1992 to 2001.
Dr. Spears became a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserves upon accepting a scholarship from the Navy for medical school. She received her diagnostic radiology residency and her internal medicine internship at Oakland Naval Hospital, in Oakland, CA; Medical School at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and B.S. degree in biology at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. She was Head of Radiology for the Naval Medical Clinics of Pearl Harbor, HI from 1989 to 1992; General Medical Officer, Emergency Room, Naval Hospital Oakland, Oakland, CA from 1984 to 1985. Dr. Spears has speaks with numerous advocacy and community service groups about breast cancer.
Dr. Spears is a member of several professional society organizations including: the Aesculapian Society, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, the National Consortium of Breast Centers, and the Society of Breast Imaging.
Dr. Robertson earned an M.D. from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She did a residency in Anesthesiology at University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver and opted to undertake a second residency in Radiology. She completed her Radiology Residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center and is Board Certified in Radiology. She completed a Thoracic/Mammography Fellowship from Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Robertson has practiced radiology with special emphasis on mammography and women’s Imaging since 1996. Dr. Robertson’s expertise includes mammography, breast ultrasound, and image guided breast biopsy.
Dr. Robertson was Head of Mammography at RadNet Long Beach 2001-2003. She was a member of both mammography and diagnostic radiology departments at Newport Diagnostic Center, Fountain Valley Hospital, and Catholic Health Services. Dr. Robertson joined Assured Imaging Women’s Wellness in 2014, and is chief radiologist in our Tucson office.

Zandra S. Nocera, M.D., board certified radiologist, chief medical officer of Arcadia Radiology and Breast Center has now joined Assured Imaging, where she brings over 34 years experience in breast diagnostics. Dr. Nocera is known for her diagnostic skills and her caring, personal touch with patients. All diagnostic breast care is carefully and thoughtfully explained to her patients with skillful and down to earth explanation of findings and recommendations. She puts each patient at ease even if facing potentially difficult outcomes. It is no surprise that she carries the honor of Compassionate Doctor and Patients Choice for 2011 and 2012.
Dr. Nocera received an M.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School after her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona. She completed her four year residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch hospital. She was a fellow in radiologic pathology at the famed Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC. She specialized in breast care early at Ben-Ora Imaging & Breast Institute and was the chief breast diagnostician at Humana Hospital Desert Valley; co-partner with Desert Valley Radiology Group; Dr. Nocera’s expertise includes mammography, breast ultrasound and image guided breast core biopsy techniques. She has been featured for her breast imaging and breast biopsy services in the Arizona Women’s Magazine.
